Description

I've been capturing data on this since mid December and really struggled to get a window of opportunity for more OIII and SII.  I've been fairly brutal in throwing out the "poorer" subs which left around 3h of Ha and 1h of OIII & SII (combined) on the cutting room floor.

The FOV with the RedCat and 294MM has been fantastic for this area of sky.  There's been so much to enjoy in this image (and keep in check during processing).

The SII was quite strong in this region and brought out key extra structure in the Flaming star and throughout the stronger background nebulosity.  Although a small amount, both the SII and OIII did contribute enough to lift the overall image I feel.

During processing, one the main goals was to bring a lot of the faint flowing nebulosity out and keep it looking natural.  I think I've done this (or close!) even exporting to compressed format for display on Astrobin.

Thanks for looking.

This was captured with Voyager, pre-processed in APP and processed in PixInsight.

Description: The first image feels balanced based on the data I captured. For this revision I've over stretched the OIII and SII before combining in a SHO palette. The Ha was then used as Luminance (something I didn't do in the original). I've then removed a lot less green and worked on the Hue too. I finally added the stars back.

Narrowband imaging is very, very subjective and I'd be interested in any comparisons and preferences if you view this revision. I appreciate I've worked the colours harder, perhaps too hard but every time I toned it down I wasn't sure where to stop.
